Membership

Membership is welcome to all. The cost for membership is $15 per child per year; not to exceed $30 per family. Anyone not interested in paying dues is absolutely welcome to attend our meetings and field trips. Our 2008 scheduled meetings will be held at the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum in room 310 on the Brigham Young University Campus. (See map below.)
With your $15 dues, you receive a basic kit including a "My Bug Book"; which includes important information about where, when, and how to find butterflies. During meetings, each child will also receive a basic mounting/collecting starter kit which includes a styrofoam mounting board, as set of pins, pinning strips, a mounting box for pinned specimens, 30 glassine envelopes for storing specimens, and a plastic container for caterpillar raising. We will also be giving out fanny packs during our 2008 meetings.
If your child was a member another year and already has his or her "My Bug Book" binder, then the cost of dues is $5 per child. This will help offset costs for updated color handouts and any additional mounting materials needed.
Dues can be paid at Utah Bug Club meetings. Checks can be made out and given or mailed to Todd Stout at 1456 North General Drive, Salt Lake City, UT, 84116. Todd's e-mail address is todd_stout29@hotmail.com
We have a lot of fun with the bug club with our short, meetings and fun field trips. We hope you will join us in 2008!
