Valley Floor Wet Meadows/River Parkways:
Vicinity of Paul Ream Wilderness Park in Provo

Overview
| The habitat of Paul Ream
Wilderness Park in Provo qualifies as both wet meadows as well as
valley river parkway as it is nestled along the Provo River and also adjacent to
some wet meadow habitat.
In 1987, in addition to the Western Tiger Swallowtail and the Two-Tailed Swallowtail, Baird's Swallowtails also turned up right in the city park in limited numbers. Adjacent to the picnic tables across from the duck pond are short hiking trails through limited woods that also produce the Common Wood-Nymph (Cercyonis pegala utahensis) as well as the normally montane leto fritillary (Speyeria leto letona.) Closer to the Provo River, during the months of June and August, one can find an occasional Viceroy (Limenitis archippus lahontani.) |
